Probulator

This week, I’ve been fill­ing out my “Appli­ca­tion to Reg­is­ter as a Can­di­date for Admis­sion to the Prac­tice of Law” in the State of Key Mid­west­ern Swing State. That is, an appli­ca­tion that I have to fill out before I can be per­mit­ted to fill out an appli­ca­tion to be allowed to take an exam­i­na­tion to see if I’m allowed to be a lawyer. Yes, it is an appli­ca­tion to be allowed to file another appli­ca­tion at some time in the future. Isn’t bureau­cracy a glo­ri­ous beast? Part of this appli­ca­tion is a “char­ac­ter ques­tion­naire.” See, you can­not be a lawyer in Key Mid­west­ern Swing State unless [ . . . ]

Further Hinkiness

Net­flix has gone and done some­thing wonky that messed up the Net­flix wid­get and broke the site for a while. Lovely if(isset($var)) state­ments have fixed the prob­lem, but the queue still doesn’t show. At least, not from where I’m sit­ting. It might be a mag­pie issue. Your cache may vary. Either Net­flix changed the for­mat of the RSS feed with my queue in it, thereby mess­ing up the reg­u­lar expres­sions the Net­flix wid­get uses to extract per­ti­nent movie data from the feed, result­ing in a null set of results, and which will require actual work on my part to fix, or my cache [ . . . ]
