Fantasy can be wonderful if it&#039;s done right.  The books really are quite marvelous, considering.  The problem with a lot of fantasy adaptations is that the books are often thick and juicy, while the movies always come off as rather anemic.</description>

		<description>Great review. We just saw it. None of us -- wife, 9 year old and I liked it too much. (None of us has read the books.) I was a bit bored by the high melodrama-to-drama ratio. My son says he liked it, but I can tell it wasn&#039;t super-great for him either. 

I found the plot to be jerky and unconvincing; it&#039;s like they never really showed the characters thinking anything though (probably what you meant by &quot;she&#039;d read the book&quot;). To cap it all, I&#039;m not a fan of fantasy as such.</description>
